In addition to competitive paddling and bringing together our Aloha family, the goal of the Becky's Race is to bring early detection, awareness and education about the dangers of melanoma. Our sport brings hours of exposure to the sun therefore skin protection and proper clothing are both an important part of our overall health. Let's not lose another family member to skin cancer. 11:15am Long Course RACE - Head to START LINE (10 miles)
11:45am Oceanside will host warm chili and baked potatoes.

REGISTRATION
Pre-online registration for one race is $35.00.
Registering for two races is $45.00.
**Walkup registration is welcomed**
Please note, if you choose to register on the day of race, an additional $10.00 fee will be applied to your registration. Be sure to sign up early to take advantage of the lower rates.
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS
Mahalo for your cooperation and have a safe race.
SUP and Prone are Short Course only
P.F.D. (personal floatation device) are required to be on the vessel while racing. Children under 10 are required to wear the P.F.D.
When entering or exiting the harbor waterways, please stay to the right and be courteous of other boaters.
Do not block the harbor entrance when waiting to start the race. You will be directed to where you can float while waiting.
Do not block the harbor waterway or boat ramp when you finish the race. Please either continue forward or go directly to the launch ramp and exit the water.
All paddlers must be marked with their assigned number. Paddlers must call out their number when crossing finish line.
Short Course start: outside the harbor OC1, OC2, V1, and SurfSki will start first, 5 min later SUP and Prone will start.
Long Course start: outside the harbor everyone will start at the same time unless numbers determine otherwise. JUMPING THE START WILL RESULT IN A 5 MIN. PENALTY. All paddlers for long race must assure race officials that they can maintain a speed that allows safety boats to stay with the pack. Slow paddlers on any craft may be asked to turn early for safety reasons.
Escort or Safety Boats will be on the water for your SAFETY. They are NOT there to rescue your vessel. In the event of an emergency, your safety takes priority.
It is expected that you will come to the aid of a fellow paddlers in trouble. IT'S ONLY A RACE. SAFETY IS A PRIORITY.
Racers are required to attend the pre-race meeting. It is the paddler’s responsibility to know the race course and turn all markers. Failure will result in a 5 min penalty per marker.
DIRECTIONS
When you arrive please do not block the boat ramps. Paid parking is $15+ a day (cc accepted) or FREE parking is available a short walk away after you unload your craft. Click HERE for City of Oceanside Parking Info and Map. When you pull up to the race site unload your vessel on the sand as indicated by the map below while you park. Trailer parking is for vehicles with boat trailers attached only. Please do not park there even if you are willing to pay the fine.
