We’re privileged to celebrate the life and legacy of beloved Hawaiian artist Dietrich Varez through THE 2025 Paopao race.
After spending time learning about his powerful body of work—deeply rooted in Hawaiian mythology and the natural world—we reached out to his ʻohana, who graciously embraced our request. Mahalo nui loa to the Varez ʻohana for generously sharing his dynamic piece, "Racing Outriggers," which is featured in this year’s Paopao design.
Varez dedicated his life to making art accessible to all, and it’s a privilege to support his legacy and carry his spirit forward through this special event.
